Terms and Conditions

Any participant on a Walberswick River Trip undertakes the trip in accordance with these terms and conditions of service and will constitute acceptance thereof when purchasing a ticket / booking a private charter.

Any participation in a Walberswick River Trips boat trip is undertaken in accordance with these terms and conditions of service and will constitute acceptance thereof.

T's and C's: FAQ

Gift Vouchers -  Gift Vouchers must be redeemed within two years of purchase. We will not offer cash refunds for gift vouchers that have been purchased.

Tickets: A valid booking must be made before boarding the boat. Each booking is only valid for the date and time specified. There is a £5.00 non refundable booking charge included in the price for each ticket. If you cancel your trip this £5.00 will not be refunded.

Departure - Walberswick River Trips depart from the Walberswick Ferry Hut Walberswick IP18 6TJ. We do not take responsibility for delayed arrival or non-attendance by you for any reason. Passengers for the trip must arrive at the Ferry Hut 10 minutes prior to departure in order to be fitted with life jackets. In the Summer months, the car parks in Walberswick and Southwold can get extremely busy so please do leave sufficient time for this factor.

Bad Weather - Walberswick River Trips may still operate if the weather is rainy, cloudy, cold or otherwise inclement.  Occasionally, weather may call for a cancellation of the trip if deemed unsafe. If a trip is cancelled we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible by telephone. If this is the case, you will be offered to move your booking to another time or be offered a full refund. If we are running a normal service and you choose not to take a trip because of the weather, you will forfeit your ticket and not be entitled to a refund.

Age - Children of any age are very welcome on Walberswick River Trip. Under 14's must be accompanied by an adult. Infants under two travel for free but MUST be booked onto the trip.

Liability - Walberswick River Trips accept no liability for any loss, damage, cost or damage of any kind. All property is the responsibility of the owner at all times.

Behaviour - We will not tolerate any passenger behaving in a manner that disrupts or interferes with the safety of or the enjoyment of other passengers. Walberswick River Trips have the right to refuse admittance onto the boat with no refund.

Unforeseen Circumstances -  Walberswick River Trips reserve the right to withdraw or alter any of the trips without prior notice due to bad weather, technical or operational reasons.

If your trip is cancelled by us we will attempt to offer you an alternative time. If this is not possible you will be offered a full refund.

Refunds and Cancellations

  • If you cancel your trip with 7+ days notice, the £5.00 booking fee included within the price of each ticket will not be refunded. The rest of the ticket price will be returned to you in full

  • Cancellations between 7 and 3 days (72 hours) prior to departure will receive a 75% refund of their ticket price.

  • Cancellations within 72 hours of departure will receive no refund.

  • You can sell or transfer your tickets but you MUST let us know exact details and we reserve the right to decline.  

These terms and conditions set out the contractual relationship between Walberswick River Trips a part of Walberswick Ferry Company Ltd together with, where applicable, all employees of that company (hereafter referred to as “us”, “we” and “our”) and the person who books and/or travels on a boat operated by Walberswick Ferry Company Ltd (hereafter referred to as “you” and “your”).

These terms and conditions, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. We and you irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions or their subject matter or formation.
